Philips 874A

Radiotechniek album
The Philips 874A is a radio with pick-up, extremely rare device. My device was unfortunately not complete but could still play.
The chassis is a modified 834A. in the first test the synchronization of both tuned circuits was not good.
The cause of the bad synchronization is the tuning capacitor. Here they are removed for replacement.
The pick-up element is of course also defective. The coil was interrupted.
An overview of the parts of the pick-up element.
Here the pickup element. The magnet is clearly visible.
The pick-up element from a different angle.
The re-wound coil.
Have the cabinet restored. There was a huge thick layer of paint on the cabinet that had to be removed.
And this is what the Philips 874A looks like now. I am missing some Bakelite parts and that is just not to be found.
And just listen to this record and how the pickup sounds. The automatic turn-off is also demonstrated.
